Across the world, people live in all kinds of homes including houses, apartments, trailers, igloos, caves, houseboats, huts, tree houses and tents.
Homes come in many shapes and sizes - and can be built anywhere and out of anything. But every home should provide shelter, and protection from the weather. A home should make us feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed. Our environment, climate and culture help to shape the homes we live in. Some houses are made of brick and wood, others are made of thatch, or mud – or even ice. But whether it’s a cave, longhouse, a city apartment or a house in the suburbs, home should be a place where every child can feel comfortable and safe.
