Azianne
and her Kite
Fifteen year old Azianne is ordinary middle-class
Muslim girl: at school she learns about computers, at home she helps her
mother with dinner. Sometimes she takes her little brother to the carnival,
although she would rather hangout at McDonalds with her friends. But when
her father brings home a beautiful handmade kite, this valiant girl is
determined to fly it - even though no one else can get it off the ground.
This country module shows:

- The life of young girls in Muslim culture (in Malaysia).
- Kites – how a traditional kite-master
makes them – and how flying them is virtually a national sport.
